Black Jax, 11.29 early '80s, Monrovia

#BlackJax —The best band ever to come out of #MontereyPark, in my humble opinion. Their sound was a mixture of English punk rock circa 1977 and early ‘80s Orange County hardcore. They didn’t have a bad song in their set. Singer Pogo commanded the stage like a pro, emoting every line while bouncing all across the stage. Although the band officially broke up in 1986, they reunited occasionally for gigs, and Pogo fronted all-new lineups through the following two decades before passing away in 2008. A collection of two early demos was legitimately released on disc in 2001 by #WankinStiphsRecords. A rumored album of later demos has, to date, not materialized.”

This is “Holly” from the aforementioned collection of demos. I’ll post more about them shortly.

I don’t know what year this flyer is from. It’s part of @bridgetowndiy’s SGV flyer archive that was featured on that one KCET article I mentioned in the last post and was contributed by Jimmy. Can someone please put me in contact with that guy? Also, does anyone know anything about #Greenblood or #TheBadThings?
