Slanted i issue no. 1, Fall 1997 - One of the few zines I know of from the late ‘90s #SGVpunk scene. This issue from the Alhambra-based zine featured interviews and profiles of local bands
well-known bands, plus columns that are very SGV-centric. Btw, a page or two might be missing. There was a second and final issue but I never got a copy of it.

Backyard Shenanigans Compilation ('97)
Backyard Shenanigans compilation from ’97 with tracks by ThretningVerse, Naked Aggression, S.M.D., Syphic, AFU, Tongue, StaringProblem, The Jawas, The Genitals, The Padded Cell, Creepshow, and a few other S.G.V. bands; plus Ill Repute, Oppressed Logic, The Missing 23rd, The Fixtures, and more. Thanks to @syphic_sgv for letting me burn the CD, and @loreenangelique for giving me the case that she still had so I could scan them. Playing is “Speed” by The Jawas because it kicks ass and is less than a minute long.

02.13.98, The Anti-Club
(1/6) 21 years ago today, 5 #SGVpunk bands that had played together many times in backyards, played at the Anti-Club on Melrose. The members of @tangwich_sgv, #Incomplete,
#TheFeds, #ASB, #Undecided, and #LDS sold about 20 tickets per band to get on the show and some of those bands could already bring fans out, which made for a good crowd that night. I was only going to post a couple of flyers but then, yesterday @johnny.sgvunexpectedly sent me some footage from that night I’m posting a bunch of stuff from that show today. Shoutout to the great #alextoth for the dope drawing from the back of an obscure ‘80s comic.
Playing is some of “Comes Caca Grande (Fight Tonight)” by Undecided. I’ll post their demo after @thegoodhoarder sends me a picture of these guys playing.

(6/6) #LDS in ’98 at the Ant-Club in Hollywood on a bill with 4 other #SGVpunk bands. A couple months ago I found a strip of old negatives from that night and tried to #diy develop them using a lightbulb and my phone. The result was blue pictures. @dandrews319 is the band’s archivist, so I shouldn’t have been too surprised when I saw one of the #paytoplay tickets for the show, but I was. I guess we didn’t sell all of our share. It was the first and last pay-to-play shows for us and probably the rest of the bands that played.
Playing is some of song “TSIS.”
